Six years ago, after much thought, prayers and discussions with friends, family and supporters, I made the decision to enter the race to become the Principal Conductor of the Work of the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International. I viewed this as a progressive office and have committed my time, energy and resources toward serving as General Grand Master during the 2026 –2029 Triennium. This is still my goal. Six years ago, I found Cryptic Masonry lacking in self-confidence and not having clear direction. Not being the person “in charge”, I looked for the place where I could put my talents to use to support improvement. The one place where I felt I could add value was through our charity, Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation (CMMRF). Six years ago, CMMRF was a lack luster charity, surviving primarily by Companions passing the hat. I poured time and energy into developing a program that Cryptic Masons can take pride in and excited about. Since then, we have more than doubled our yearly donations are now averaging over $600,000 per year to support research for the medical use of stem cells to improve the health and lives of individuals with diabetes and vascular diseases. These past five years have given us confidence and a sense of working for a worthwhile common goal. I look forward to serving as the General Grand Master in the 2026 – 2029 term, to once again bringing excitement to the Cryptic Rite, and to making the Cryptic Rite the body men take pride in. We are more than just another rite; we are the Rite that ties the York Rite together. Fraternally, G. Thomas Taylor Deputy General Grand Master Cryptic Masons International .
